At Hayes Safety Training we offer two Chainsaw Safety courses, please see below for detailed descriptions of each:
Enform - Level 1 Bucker Course
This is a 3 day course consisting of a total of 24 hours combined classroom and field instruction. Many oil and gas companies have accepted this course as their standard of skill level for chainsaw training.
This course includes the following objectives:
Basic Personal and Work site Safety
Work site Safety Requirements and Practices
Chainsaws and Other Equipment
Limbing and Taping Practices
Bucking Practices
WTA (Woodlands Trainers Association) course offers 3 levels:
Awareness: a 1 day course that covers safety considerations, basic saw maintenance and basic saw handling.
Basic: a 2 day course that covers all of the above plus some special situations, emergency response plans and basic bucking and limbing techniques.
Intermediate: a 3 day course which covers all of the above plus bolt and boring cuts, compression/tension cuts and felling technical training.
